IDENTITY DESIGN

The sea, the traffic and Bollywood are all essences of Bombay.

Masala Films is a production house based in Bombay (at least hypothetically) and recognises itself as a typical '80s/ '90s Bollywood movie packed with all that drama, emotion, action and music... but in modern times.

Agency - Umbrella Design

A fun and modern approach were taken to establish the identity of the production house. Vibrant colours were incorporated to bring out the Bollywood vibe and abstract line illustrations give it the required modern touch.

Lights... Camera... Masala?

In yesteryears, Bollywood typically introduced movie titles in different languages, but majorly in Hindi and English. This inspired the visual direction for the logo.

The logo unit is a combination of the Hindi letter "M" and the letter "F" in English, adding up to "Masala Films".

The colours are in high contrast as that was another visual feature observed in the movie posters and promotions along with bold fonts.
